Diasporic Love

i see you
to be seen is to be heard
to be heard is to be loved
and i love you
i love you from my veins to my memories that
carry this trauma
these stories
this diaspora

i feel you
our histories entwine with our
touch
our pain melts together
like a candle in a dark room
brown skin to brown skin
survivor to survivor
warrior to warrior
i will fight with you

you see me
and it is like giving me breath
from your lungs
you hear me
and
i never want to be silenced again
you love me
and it is as if my bones
carved with colonization
begin to heal
