Greed & Bittersweet

Greed

As I wander through the paths of life

I haven’t the slightest thought of what will come next

Faster I walk but the road is slightly smaller

Until I come across a small peek in the rock

I crawl under it only to find a brooch

I approach the mysterious clip

For I do not know who it belongs to

Carefully I pick up the brooch examining its shine

Its glimmering jewels mystify me with their radiance

Since I have found this clip it will be mine

I pocket the brooch keeping it safe by my side

While walking down another dirt road

I notice a chunk of wood missing from a near by tree

Slowly I sink my hand into the hole of the great wooden beast

Fearing for the safety of my hand

What’s this! Alas I have found what I believe to be a sack of gold

How strange someone would leave this here to be found

I keep my stride up feeling proud to of found such beauty

I stop only when I come to a river crossing

I must swim I think to myself

Dipping my legs in the water I creep my way into the river

Oh my! I cry out as my body is being forced down

Farther, farther, and farther I sink into the abyss

I wail for help but my greed has taken me in the end

Bitter Sweet

As the beautiful young lady sits sweetly

On the dark, dense, wood swing

She can smell the bitter sense of the rotting plum tree

Helplessly she roams the halls aimlessly

Nothing can save her darling heart

For it has been corrupted by soil

Do not let her pink, flowing dress deceit you

For her heart has been corrupted by soil

Dancing in the grass she lets go of her fears

For her heart has been corrupted by soil

Dangling her feet off the building above

For her heart has been corrupted by soil

Off she goes

For her heart has been corrupted by soil
